I have been trying to think about how to categorize Mad Sisters of Esi and Piranesi so your description is apt. My first thought was 'stay for the vibes' - untangle the plot and story later.
there are some stories i've got here that have plot (weird plot), but 'stay for the vibes' is one of my favourite types of weird stories to read!
Weird plot is fine, but it really takes a skilled writer to evoke such emotions.
