Please mention the length of book you refer to, I originally wanted to ask about only books around 1000 pages, but I decided to leave the post open to any sort of book.
Do you consider yourself quick or slow?
I used to be a quick reader way above my grade, but in adulthood I have grown slower. This is due to visual issues, concentration issues, and generally not having the will or time.
When I read Stephen King's IT, it took me a month or two i think, i am not 100% sure as this was years ago. (with breaks) I am now reading Salem's Lot, and though I wont say I am reading faster, I am at least reading more. It has been a while since I sat down to swallow 50+ pages in one go. I might never reach the speed I once had, but... slow and steady wins the race?
I will by no means say I am slow rn, but closer to average than what I am "used to"
