That line â âYou go to work every day and can feed yourself. Thatâs a fine achievement.â
Honestly? It hit me. Such a quiet reminder that even the âbasicâ things arenât small. Sometimes itâs nice to feel seen like that.

This was such a fun, comforting read. Lauren Graham writes exactly the way she talks â quick, witty, and full of charm â so it genuinely felt like having a friend chatter beside me (in the best way).
I loved the behind-the-scenes snippets from Gilmore Girls and Parenthood, but what really stuck with me was her honesty about career struggles, self-doubt, and figuring herself out along the way. Itâs light, warm, and surprisingly encouraging without ever trying too hard.
If you enjoy memoirs that feel like personality + humor + a sprinkle of life advice, this one is a delight. And if youâre a Gilmore Girls fan? Itâs basically essential.

Talking as Fast as I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls, and Everything in Between

Bat Eater is exactly the kind of creepy, high-tension thriller that sneaks up on you. It starts slowâquiet, unsettling, almost too normalâand then suddenly the dread ramps up in a way that feels like someone turning a dimmer switch all the way into darkness.
What really works is the atmosphere. The author nails that small-town claustrophobia, the âeveryone knows something but no oneâs talkingâ energy, and the constant sense that danger is sitting in the corner waiting for you to make eye contact. The horror is more psychological than gory, but it still gets under your skin.
The characters themselves are messy in a human way: flawed, scared, sometimes frustrating, but believable. And once the mystery pieces start clicking together, the story becomes surprisingly addictive. I kept reading because I needed to know what was hiding behind the next reveal.
My only drawback? The pacing dips here and there, and a few scenes felt longer than they needed to be. But once the book hits its stride, it runs.
Overall, Bat Eater is eerie, tense, and deeply atmosphericâa great pick if you want horror that lingers without relying on jump scares.

Hmmm⊠I thought they should be feeding a lot more? (No thanks to Harvey) But itâs now all for Delilah?

Correct me if Iâm wrong, but⊠is Cora now juggling two missions? Getting rid of whateverâs haunting her and trying to solve a serial-killer case? Because thatâs what it feels like right now.â

âCora was good at sufferingâ
Poor little girl, no one should think that they are good at suffering.

I stopped reading after âThe creatures have no eyes..â cause Iâve got work tomorrow and I donât want to have a nightmare.

The primary focus is currently on the emotional tension between Louise and Mark and the psychological burden of grief and inheritance, which feels more like a strained family drama than a ghost story đ

26% I'm ending here. I can't get over the petty fights between the siblings over inheritance.
