A ghost, a hallucination, whatever he may be, he was an angel in golden armor and he declared I would ascend.” Days after Dreusila Leander graduates from the mandatory three years at the space academy, she joins an apprentice program aboard the Search and Retrieval Vessel Ahura. Once aboard, Leander’s life changes dramatically, from surviving Ahura’s sabotage by space pirates to running from thugs on the planet DFA. Her luck finally runs out when she encounters the Commander of the Bloodstone Enterprise, resulting in her death and revival of her cadaver in an experimental procedure involving alien DNA. Awakened from the successful procedure, Leander soon comes to realize the procedure has extraordinary side effects that prove positive but her memory loss and hallucinations prove otherwise. As her resilient powers grow so does her hallucinations of an angel who is trying to help her against the escalation of an unfamiliar antagonist.
