While the satisfaction of wrongs righted is potent, the resolution of the central mystery of the CEMETERY GIRL trilogy goes out of its way to insist that Calexa gains that and only that. It’s difficult to discuss without spoilers, but she’s in a place where she feels safe and happy and loved, and at the end only more love is really of value to her.

And so with the resolution of this series, the emphasis really seems to be that now Calexa can stop wondering, but she had everything she needed all along. With so much narrative work being put in to “She doesn’t need this”, it’s hard as the reader to give anything more than a shrug as the last page turns. Because, while I was curious, I guess I don’t really need this either.

Sexual content: Allusions to an affair, kissing.
