S.T. Gibson's sensational novel is the darkly seductive tale of Dracula's first bride, Constanta. This is my last love letter to you, though some would call it a confession. . . Saved from the brink of death by a mysterious stranger, Constanta is transformed from a medieval peasant into a bride fit for an undying king. But when Dracula draws a cunning aristocrat and a starving artist into his web of passion and deceit, Constanta realizes that her beloved is capable of terrible things. Finding comfort in the arms of her rival consorts, she begins to unravel their husband's dark secrets. With the lives of everyone she loves on the line, Constanta will have to choose between her own freedom and her love for her husband. But bonds forged by blood can only be broken by death.

Amzing!! This makes me want to read dracula. But im not sure if i could contain my fury and not dnf it.
This was an excellent, quick read. The writing is beautiful and the characters are beautifully portrayed. If you're looking for a traditional, fantasy-type novel about vampires and the supernatural, you're in the wrong place. This book uses the eternal life of vampires as a vehicle to explore passion, love, desire, and control - it is much more an exposé on the human experience than it is an exploration of the magical.

This book wasn't bad for any reason, but I just didn't connect with it. The writing style/voice somewhat reminded me of "The Death of Jane Lawrence," and for some reason it kind of annoyed me. Maybe gothic supernatural fiction just isn't my cup of tea. I think if you enjoy vampire stories and the plot sounds interesting to you, maybe give it a go. Otherwise, I didn't think there was anything really remarkable about this book. The plot was pretty predictable, the characters were somewhat flat, and the writing was good (but nothing special). I wasn't sure what to rate it because I did read it quickly (it's easy to get through), which usually is indicative of a higher rating, but I didn't particularly enjoy it.
