Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

Dark romance author Cora Kent brings you a mafia captive heroine romance. I was born to inherit the family business. Father braided darkness into my soul before I spoke my first word. Adalina Martinelli is collateral. At first, I take her because her father is in debt to mine. But after one night together, she becomes my prisoner. Locked in a gilded cage, I set forth to transform her. Father wants me to marry, and I've found the perfect wife. She may be younger than me... She may be the daughter of our enemies... She may need stern convincing... But I will bend and break her until she agrees to my twisted guarantee of safety. Note: Ruthless Sinner is Dante and Adalina's story. This novel features dark themes, steamy scenes, and mature content. Please read the first chapter for a full list of TWs.

This was one of my first dips into a mafia romance and I dont regret it one bit. Ruthless Sinner starts off with our FMC celebrating her birthday the way any twenty-one year old would celebrate. Drinking and dancing at a club with your friends, only thing is, Adalina is no regular 21 year old. Being the daughter to a mafia boss isnt always what its cracked up to be, especially for our girl. Lets just say that her relationship with her father is....Where is Oliva and Stabler when you need them right?

Dante Terlizzi is the new head of the family business and he wants the loans given paid, as soon as possible. When Dante goes to get payment from Tommaso Martinelli, Adalina's father, he devises a plan to kidnap her for ransom. Only thing is his plans change when he meets Ada face to face at the bar he 'so happens' to be at. There is instant attraction, but he has a job to do and a debt to collect. So how will this end for Adalina?

This story had me gripped within the first couple chapters. I was expecting there to be a bit of a slow beginning, but there is no slow in this book. I read this within 2-3 days, if I didnt have a full-time job I would have finished it in one. The plot was there, the romance parts are there, my attention was captured. The build up to the pinnacle of the story was so so good. That I would recommend this book to others. You are left wondering what is going on in her background and you just want to keep reading to see if your questions are answered.

There were some minor things that at times were a bit of a stretch for me, but for me it could just be that peoples bodies react differently to different medications, so I let them slide since at times we can be our true selves when under the influence.

But overall this is a 4 out of 5 for me. I am looking forward to reading about the other characters we were introduced to in this story.

I was initially super sold right from the dedication, but then this one turned into a bit of a mixed bag for me. I loved a lot of the main points of the story, but the main characters (and not super helpful MMC bestie) were not my favorite.

Ada was very much “I’m strong hear me roar”, but then felt far too accepting of some of the things Dante did. And I felt like I never knew what to expect from him, and not always in a fun way. I found myself super sucked into this story because I needed to know what was going to happen.

I did enjoy her revenge, that was one of my most favorite parts of the book. The spice was also nice and spicyyy.

Th story did flow well overall and the ending was technically a HEA, but I did not love some of the journey to get to it.

I loved Adalina's journey of reclaiming her power after experiencing so much abuse. I felt her strength and admired her fiery spirit. The dynamic between Adalina and Dante was electric. I enjoyed their witty banter and found their intimate scenes incredibly well-written. I was drawn to Dante's protective nature, even though I sometimes questioned his methods. I appreciated how he ultimately accepted Adalina for who she was. I thought their connection was undeniable. The mix of humor, emotion, and suspense kept me hooked from beginning to end.
