Half Truths follows Gabriel’s story from the time he arrives Switzerland, seeking help in recovering his magical powers from the conniving Black Witch Mercury, and goes up until the moment when he first meets Nathan and their paths become forever intertwined. For the new reader, this is the perfect bite-sized introduction to the world of Half Bad, where witches and humans live alongside one another. And for the returning reader, this story sheds new light on one of the trilogy’s most beloved characters.

**Minor spoilers for Half Wild**
Is this actually a 5-star read? No. I just can't bear the thought of giving a story that featured my sweet cinnamon roll Gabriel so heavily anything less. I'm a little disappointed, admittedly. I liked seeing what happened between Half Lies and Half Bad. I liked the small glimpse we got of Gabriel's first impression of Nathan, but it left me wanting more. I would have liked a little more of Gabriel when he first met Nathan. In Half Wild, Gabriel tells Nathan he loves Nathan more than he loved Michele. He's so utterly and completely devoted to Nathan, it would have been nice to see a little more of the why.
But... I love Gabriel so much (I'm basically Jon drooling because of my love), I'm throwing caution to the wind and giving it 5 stars.
