With honesty and true understanding, Sally Hepworth pens this poignant story of one of today's nightmares: early-onset Alzheimer's. Anna Forster, in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease at only thirty-eight years old, knows that her family is doing what they believe to be best when they take her to Rosalind House, an assisted living facility. She also knows there's just one other resident her age, Luke. What she does not expect is the love that blossoms between her and Luke even as she resists her new life at Rosalind House. As her disease steals more and more of her memory, Anna fights to hold on to what she knows, including her relationship with Luke. When Eve Bennett is suddenly thrust into the role of single mother she finds herself putting her culinary training to use at Rosalind house. When she meets Anna and Luke she is moved by the bond the pair has forged. But when a tragic incident leads Anna's and Luke's families to separate them, Eve finds herself questioning what she is willing to risk to help them.

This book is heartbreaking. I just can’t imagine…
Anna is only 38-years-old and has Alzheimer's. She goes to live with her brother but after an accident with one of his children, she decides to live in an assisted living facility for senior citizens, Rosalind House. But Anna isn't the only younger person there with dementia, there is Luke. He is 41 and has what is called frontotemporal dementia, this affects his speech and word production. Luke has great difficulty communicating but continues to try.
Anna watched her mother deteriorate from Alzheimer’s and is terrified of what awaits her. Once she enters the facility, she isolates herself and thinks about all the things she will be losing. As she begins to lose words and memories, she falls further into depression. Luke talks to her about what he wants in the days coming. He wants to live and is afraid of others making decisions for him.
Eve has recently lost everything. Her husband ran a Ponsi scheme, ripping off thousands of people. As the law closes in, he finds a way out and leaves his wife and daughter in the mess. They lose everything and Eve finds a job in Rosalind house as a cook. Of course, people believe that Eve must have known what her husband was doing and assume that she is to blame as well. Her daughter starts to feel the fallout at school.
Luke and Anna form a bond. A tragic event occurs and everyone decides that it is best to keep the two of them apart.
This one pulled out all of the feels. I cannot imagine what it must be like to start losing everything that you know. What if everything is new every day? You start to lose the newest memories first and you know they are disappearing. I felt so much for all of them.
