[3.5] i loved the first-hand account of being a biological child in a foster home, and quirky details about alpaca farming, as they were so refreshing to read about in a romance / women's fiction book. i did think, however, the story would have been SO much more interesting if theo had been in prison, like you were originally lead to believe, and how this would have affected different chracters, etc.
