I really did not feel one way or the other about this book. I found it amusing, but not "ragingly funny" as one blurb boasts. I unfortunately kept feeling like I was waiting for something to happen--even the most action-ish bits where Ben is running/chasing were only so so for me.
There was even a bit of me disappointed that the end was not a tragedy. It seemed to tie up too easily with happiness in all corners.
I found Ben fairly easy to relate to, and I liked that Trev seemed real too. Bob and Elsa were more caricatures of parents, but Dot was a much better secondary character. Almost each of the characters were very cliched and predictable.
When all is said and done, I liked the novel but wouldn't particularly recommend it to anyone.
