Dies the Fire (Emberverse, #1)

S.M. Stirling

Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

The Change occurred when an electrical storm centered over the island of Nantucket produced a blinding white flash that rendered all electronic devices and fuels inoperable. What follows is the most terrible global catastrophe in the history of the human race-and a Dark Age more universal and complete than could possibly be imagined.

Parts of this book were very 'skippy' and I had no clue what was going on. About the last hundred pages were the worst, it skipped from action scene to action scene without giving you any background, then all of the sudden, the end. I do really like the 'idea' of this book, and most of it was good, but towards the end, it really irritated me.
