The story begins a week before Lydia goes to Brighton, Elizabeth has already rejected Mr. Darcy’s marriage proposal, and Mr. Bingley has already left for London without any intention of coming back to Netherfield.
I’ve been a fan of all the books by Lorena DiChiara, yet, I did not see this one coming; it helped me realize how a chain of events needs to follow a sequence of steps to come true, meanwhile, all the characters are human with virtues, flaws and free will.
But what happens when one incident, one tragedy interrupts the chain of events while life has to go on? I rate this book 5 stars because, as a reader, I couldn’t stop reading, the story was too engaging. On the negative side, a couple of times, the story came a little too close to “Sense and Sensibility” by Jane Austen.
I would recommend this book to all the fans of Jane Austen.
