0Milisant and Wulfric have been betrothed since Milisant was born. After a horrible first encounter as children, neither one is interested in marrying the other. When Wulfric’s father reminds him of his duty, he goes to collect his bride. Milisant will do anything to get out of marrying Wulf, so she gets her father to agree to allow a month of “get to know you” time. To make matters complicated, it quickly becomes apparent that someone is trying to murder Milisant!
This book was really hard for me to get into. This could be due to a combination of pandemic brain and my child demanding I entertain her at every moment, so I will probably try to re-read it at some point! I liked the enemies to lovers aspect and I really liked that we saw both Mili and Wulf’s aspect of their first encounter. Neither one of them were wrong per say, it was just a big misunderstanding! I got frustrated with Mili throughout the book, because I knew (as the reader) that Wulf was not a bad guy. She just needed to give him a chance! But she’s 18, stubborn, and about to be forced into marriage, so who wouldn’t act like she did?! Overall, this was not my favorite Lindsey, but it was still good!
