Enjoyed it. Because I was listening to the audiobook, sometimes jumping to a news article or excerpt was jarring for a few seconds. That being said, I liked the information that was provided during these bits and I'm sure I wouldn't have had a problem if reading on the page.
Sissy Spacek was the narrator, I thought she did a fine job. I did not find the plot or characters to be horrifying-obviously the deaths were, but I mean that I did not feel scared while listening to the audio. Perhaps this was because I already knew the general plot (though I'd never seen the movie in full)?
One thing I thought was interesting was that Carrie herself was not a like-able character to me. She was described as 'bovine' and 'dull' and there was not sympathy for her during the hazing bathroom scene. I guess King did a good job if you were supposed to more identify with the other girls. Throughout, I had a hard time relating to or liking Carrie which I thought was interesting. Can't think of another book off the top of my head where the main character is not really "supposed" to be liked.
