It had everything I wanted in it. It was dark, gripping, raw, and emotional.
This Novella had me on the edge of the seat from the very first page, and I finished it in a single sitting.
Cole was a complex, multi-faceted character that was unpredictable and fascinating. His struggles with addiction and the thought processes that came with that really drove the story. He was incredibly endearing, and you sympathise with his struggles.
Next, we have our FMC, Vanessa, who is another character who drove the story forward. She intrigued me at how rationally she handled a lot of the hostage situation and also cared for Cole as she was a nurse. She wasn't a pushover and stood up for herself when push came to shove. She fought back and hard.
It was interesting to watch how their relationship developed and how they both grew together. The conversations and moments they shared were so raw and emotional. They both really saw and got each other.
I loved everything about this Novella and can't recommend it enough!
