Sookie Stackhouse is just a small-time cocktail waitress in small-town Louisiana. Until the vampire of her dreams walks into her life-and one of her coworkers checks out.... Maybe having a vampire for a boyfriend isn't such a bright idea.

Listened to the audiobook. I think the narrator did a decent job, but I also think her reading dramatically affected my interpretation of the characters.
- Bill the vampire. Stupid name, sounded like a dud, seemed possessive and controlling, killed people because he wanted to, Sookie didn't like that but just sort of slapped his wrists!
- I thought Sookie was very naive, and that she rarely had her own thoughts. Mostly she was told what to do by stupid Bill or pulled the thoughts out of other people's heads.
- I felt like every character was predictable and cliche, they were all stupid hicks with no education and the only person I liked was the Grandma! (I guess I liked Sookie okay, but not a lot because she didn't make any good or smart decisions.)
Don't know if I will continue this series.
Also, I see that this was published pre-Twilight, but it strikes me that there seems to be many similarities. Many many times I was reminded of Twilight. Hmm....
