It wasn't epic, it wasn't hearty but it was a nice story. But it wasn't that interesting really, the information would have given Red Queen or the sequel an 'aha' moment when the Scarlet Guard's system of infiltration was displayed but otherwise I could have managed without it.
Farley is an interesting character and it was nice to get more background information about her. However, the messages between operatives made the story lumpy and frustrating when I as a reader had to think about who was sending who messages all the time! If they had kept it in regular text type I'd probably enjoyed it more.
I simply didn't find myself intrigued to read this story. But see for yourselves if you want.
