Gemäß dieser Absprache zwischen dem Adel und dem Herrscher der Unterwelt dürfen Diebe mehr oder weniger ungestraft ihr Unwesen treiben, solange die Aristokratie von ihnen verschont bleibt. Doch Locke Lamora und seine Gentlemen-Ganoven halten nicht viel von Absprachen und haben es sich zur Gewohnheit gemacht, die Reichen der Stadt um ihr Geld zu erleichtern. Das funktioniert wunderbar, bis der geheimnisvolle Graue König mithilfe eines scheinbar unbesiegbaren Soldmagiers die Macht über die Unterwelt an sich reißt und droht, das sensible Herrschaftsgefüge von Camorr aus dem Gleichgewicht zu bringen – und dazu braucht er Lockes einzigartige Fähigkeiten

OK, so this Book is maybe the Definition for MEH for me. I expected so much from it and was let down so hard.
You see, this Book reminded me of the Movie "Oceans Eleven", and here beginns the Problem: I hate Movies like Oceans Eleven.
It's not because of the Characters, or the Plot but because of all the other Things. See, I'm not a Fan of Action, especially when the Plot wanders into the Background for more Action. And that's what happens here. I mean, there are sooooo many Sub- Plots, so many get solfed in such a Hurry Up, others get such a unsatisfying ending. Some Characters are just there so someone can get murdered. Others so Locke has some lost Love (got, this one was the worst. The Girl wasn't even in the Book and my Hate Level for her was on "Thanos").
The Really Good Main Plot get lost in this Bunch of Sub- Plots and Sub- Characters, which are heavenly uninteresting for the Book. If you would just carve all this out, this one would be a really great Book for me...
I also had my Problems with the Writings. Lynch can write, definitely, no Question!
But Boy, all this CHOP CHOP CHOP!
Whenever it gets interesting, CHOP!!, here, a really uninteresting and unnecessary Part of Locke Past. EVERY. GODDAMN. TIME! WHY?
All this Hopping around like a Rabbit on Meth makes this Book just Okay with a sprinkle of MEH. Not Bad, but definitely not Good.
