    Oof, I deserve a medal for finishing this. And I only did that because it was a buddy read with Tânia.

    - Not a lot of positives, but I did enjoy the book until 50%. That was it though.

    - The writing style;
    - The long-ass chapters. (2 hours for one chapter is crazy). Plus, I couldn't even figure out a place to stop because the author doesn't give you any clues when the topic is about to change;
    - The time period. I have no idea if this was in the 60s or the 00s. And that is extremely important for the book. How am I supposed to know the historical context that these characters live in if I don't know the year? We have two Black characters, a lot of LGBTQ+ characters, and we don't talk about the time period once;
    - You want me to believe that these four characters are friends? Sure, Willem, JB, and Malcolm may be. But Jude isn't. JB only tolerates Jude, Malcolm doesn't care about it and pushes his obligations to others, and Willem likes to feel like he is the savior. That made me mad!!!! Plus, their friendship isn't even the main focus of the book. Honestly, give me more Andy and Richard. They were the ones who were there for Jude. Not JB and Malcolm;
    - The lack of female characters was jarring. Only two women? And they weren't even important;
    - The disability representation. I have an aunt who lost the ability to walk normally after having my cousin. This was a horrible representation of that;
    - If you judge others for reading smut, and you like this, you are the problem. This was p*rn but in abuse form. Sure, in the beginning, I was shocked and repulsed. But midway through I couldn't care less anymore. It was too much, and all the bad possible things happened. I wasn't even surprised anymore;
    - You want to like Willem, but you destroyed his character. He knew deep down that Jude was abused as a kid. He knew that he didn't like sex. He knew that he hurt himself more and more when they had sex. But still. He had needs. And that was way more important than Jude's trauma. Plus, when he forced Jude out of his clothes... NO!!!!!! AGAIN HE KNEW!!! ;
    - Harold. I do like his character. But why did you not try to help him?;
    - Unnecessarily big. It was just a way to get more and more trauma in this;
    - I wasn't surprised by the ending. I knew it all along.
