this is my fourth book by Ms Hoover and I have to say this one by far is my favorite. I am your average lover of all kinds of books and I devoured this in two days.

Your heroine in this one is Sloan. I like broken characters but that may be because I find them extremely relate-able. I think what she does with Asa is try to make the best of a bad situation. the only downfall with that is that domestic violence should not be the better of a bad situation.

then comes the Hero Luke/Carter you will understand why I wrote it like that once you start the book. He is a well rounded character who I enjoyed. Colleen does a good job making his cop personality seem real so therefore the story stays intact and flows well.

I am giving this 4 stars because I am sad this is a stand alone it had series potential
