Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

I’m the station’s youngest fire chief, a grown man, and fully in my right mind—which means I’m not going to fall for the One Who Got Away. That’s not the kind of person I am. Second chances are like skipping leg day—I don’t do that. Ever. But I wasn’t counting on Naomi buying me at the firefighter charity auction. Now I’m forced into a month of dates with the one woman who cuts through my defenses like no one else, and I’m starting to think maybe she’s right…maybe we are different people than the teenagers who failed at love. Maybe this isn’t a fire I have to put out. Maybe for the first time in my life I can relax and just…let it burn. Or maybe we’re both about to learn that fire isn’t something you should underestimate—especially the kind that burns between a man and a woman. The complete Hometown Heroes series releases this summer! All Fired Up Catching Fire Playing with Fire *All Fired Up was previously published as Last of the Red Hot Firefighters by Jessie Evans. It has been rewritten in first person and heavily revised for this new edition.*

Publication Year: 2021

    Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

Naomi has returned to her hometown, recovering from losing her child and her relationship at the same time. She's had everything she's ever wanted, all the money she needed and all she wants now is Jake. That may be hard, though, since Jake is still angry about how she left him so many years ago and left town. And there's the secret about how Naomi spent her last night in town: passed out drunk in bed (that's it, just in bed) with Jake's brother Jamison. Naomi bids on 4 dates with Jake at a fundraiser for the fire department (he's the chief) and he is nothing but angry at first. The more time that they spend together, the more he forgives her and when he finds out about what has happened in her life, he realizes that he never stopped loving her. But when that big secret (non-secret) comes out, will that be the end?
