On the morning of her sixteenth birthday, Renée Winters was still an ordinary girl. She spent her summers at the beach, had the perfect best friend, and had just started dating the cutest guy at school. No one she'd ever known had died. But all that changes when she finds her parents dead in the Redwood Forest, in what appears to be a strange double murder. After the funeral Renée’s wealthy grandfather sends her to Gottfried Academy, a remote and mysterious boarding school in Maine, where she finds herself studying subjects like Philosophy, Latin, and the “Crude Sciences.” It’s there that she meets Dante Berlin, a handsome and elusive boy to whom she feels inexplicably drawn. As they grow closer, unexplainable things begin to happen, but Renée can’t stop herself from falling in love. It’s only when she discovers a dark tragedy in Gottfried’s past that she begins to wonder if the Academy is everything it seems. Little does she know, Dante is the one hiding a dangerous secret, one that has him fearing for her life. Dead Beautiful is both a compelling romance and thought-provoking read, bringing shocking new meaning to life, death, love, and the nature of the soul.

Reading Under the Covers
This book had me from the very first page. I was a sucker.
I was totally drawn into the story and Renee was an awesome main character. From the second she found her parents you knew she was different but I couldn’t tell how and that bugged me and now I know I want to scream because it was so obvious and that pisses me off.
When I normally go into a story like this I can normally guess where it was going and I feel so stupid not realised where this story was going. Yvonne dropped so many obvious hints throughout the story that you should know what was going on, what the main plot was or well one of the main plots was.
The writing was great and I loved all of the characters. There’s a lot of loose parts of the story that I am so hoping that get told in the next book because I just need to know. They are HUGE cliffhangers and that bugs me. There is so much more of this story to be told.
But damn you Yvonne that ending sucked so badly. It was one of the biggest cliffhangers of this story and I hated it. It annoyed me so much I need to know what is going on which is why I am now going to buy the next book.
