This is from 1983, so just be prepared for some problematic stuff if you decide to read!

I have finally finished the Montgomery brothers tetralogy! The final book brings the two feuding families together when Elizabeth Chatworth is delivered to Miles Montgomery naked and rolled up in a carpet. Elizabeth has been terrorized by her oldest brother and his friends for years, so she seems to be the only woman who is not interested in Miles. Miles can tell she has been hurt in the past, so he is determined to gain her trust and show her that she doesn’t have to walk through life defensive and in fear.

This is probably my favorite book out of the four. Elizabeth is a badass heroine who learned her skills of survival from years of protecting herself from her oldest brother. He was essentially betting her virginity in card games with his friends. As a result, she has developed habits that have kept her safe when she is around men. Miles is determined to help Elizabeth, but also wants to show her what it is like to be loved and treasured. I loved this and I loved the story of these two characters. If you love old school historical romance, I would highly recommend!
