Re-reading the books again. have no idea how many times I've read them by now. I very seldom read books more than once, I mean who has time for that, but this are always great to come back to.

I wish I could remember my feelings the first time I read it, that I would have been better at writing such stuff down then. I remember I got the first and second book for christmas from my grandparents, and I was hooked just by looking at the covers.

I know I love this book. However, these are some of the thoughts I got now when reading it.

    1. Hagrid is kind of like an enhancement of what Harry is feeling. He almost never goes against Harry, and whenever Harry hates someone else or thinks something is unfair, Hagrid shares that sentiment with him. The first thing Hagrid says about the Dursleys is how awful they are and how fat Dudley is. He doesn't know them, so why would he just assume they are bad people? Also, a bit of fat shaming. It's not like Hagrid is tiny, so kind of weird he bullies a child for that. Also also, why does he enchant Dudley and put a pig tail on him when it was Vernon that was antagonizing him? That just further proves that Hagrid is an enhancement of Harry's feelings.

    2. A lot of the students are from muggle families. Does that mean they send that many letters to people all over Britain? Because I do not think Dursleys are the only ones who wants to think it is a trick, something they don't want near them. There should be more students that have stories like that, that owls never stoppped sending them letters or something, or is that only for the chosen one?

    3. also, they gave Harry to the Dursleys, they said, here take this young child and be his legal guardians. But when it comes to going to school they have no power anymore? How come someone from a school can just come and take Harry away? I don't think that would work in court.

    4. Vernon is the one that seems to be the most upset about the letters. He tries so hard to protect his family from magic. I kind of felt sympathy for him. I get he is supposed to be the bad guy, and yes he and they are, but at the same time, he knows about his wife's troubles, that she is hurting from how her sister got magic and she didn't, and he is protecting her and his family. It is kind of beautiful when you think about it. Sure, we see it through Harry's eyes and then it is awful, but through Vernon's eyes, he is protecting his family.

    5. How they divide the students is awful. Everyone just assumes that those from Slytherin will turn out bad.

    6. everyone hates that Slytherin is always winning everything, but that could be because they are the best ones, they are practicing the most and actually doing the work. Why would they else win so much? No one seems to consider that they get good grades and do other stuff that gives them points. But that is never talked about.

    7. why would Hagrid split them up in two groups when they go into the forbidden forest? First of all there are dangerous things there, and second of all if a student doesn't do as you say you as an adult have to be in charge, not put Harry together with Malfoy so that he has to make sure he behaves.
