A charming story of a boy who gets sent off to boarding school after making his mothers life a living nightmare because he doesn't like her new boyfriend. While away at boarding school Jon starts to be haunted by ghosts and eventually a tale involving his ancestry connection to these ghost start to unravel, which leads to Jon making a pact with an old Knight for protection.
Overall the story was very simple and fast to get through. Jon is a decent character to follow, nothing really stands out about him. He is just your typical 11 year old thrown into an unusual situation. The story overall has 2 arcs in it. The ghosts haunting Jon, and Finding the Heart of the fallen knight. I have to say I found the second arc with finding the knights lost heart really sweet, and for me more interesting but I know the action with the ghosts haunting Jon will be entertaining for kids.
The only real issue I had with this was the names, so many characters sharing the same name of Jon, just spelled differently, it at times made it a little confusing.
