Damon Atwood was Hollywood’s golden boy. Having won an Oscar at the tender age of thirteen, he had the life many could only dream about. But his success came at a price, and after a short but fruitful film career, he chose to live a life of obscurity on a remote Scottish island. Almost a decade later he’s finally ready to make his return, starting with a lead role in a musical on London’s West End. As a choreographer’s assistant, Rose Taylor has always faded into the background. She watches shows come to life from the side lines, but has never craved the attention of stardom. When rumours begin circulating of Damon’s involvement in her latest gig, she doesn’t predict how she will be thrust into the limelight, nor how the mysterious and strangely introverted man will need her to teach him how to be a star again. Rose knows that show crushes don’t last. Actors fall for each other during the intensity of a production, often losing themselves in their roles. These kinds of affairs burn bright and then they fade. The question is, should Rose let herself shine with Damon, or guard her heart from being broken after the final curtain call?

**Edit: I really need to add this one quote. Because after I finished reading this novel, I went and rewatched Moulin Rouge. I'm older now, so I understand the pain and the emotion behind the story. And LH did so wonderfully writing this book.

"Come what may, he would love me until my dying day."
    _______________

    -sighs-

What did I think about this book? What didn't I think!?

Cosway's writing is phenomenal and has a magical, lyrical voice to it. I'm very used to her one character P.O.V. writing, but she's writes dual perspectives flawlessly.

"You use that word like a weapon, you know. 'Beautiful' on your lips should be illegal, Damon Atwood. It makes me weak."

Showmance is a wonderful tale of an ex-child star actor and a choreographer's assistant.

Rose has a history of falling in love with actors and she is going to make no exception for Damon. Recently broken-hearted, Rose puts her attention into the next production that she's helping out with, Moulin Rouge.

Our (quiet) lead role has acting skill, the voice, but not the dance. Rose decides to help him out and helps Damon open up more to himself and his fellow cast mates.

But Rose sees herself enjoying every moment with Damon and she's afraid of falling in love again, setting herself for another heartbreak. Read the book to hear how the tale unfolds.

I will say, and this may or may not convince you to buy the book asap, but Damon is an interesting character. He's very closed off and only speaks when he's spoken to. He puts all his trust into Rose. But he has this unique trait to him that had me intrigued while reading in his perspective.

Damon Atwood has a dirty mind ladies. This quiet, bashful man has a dirty side to him which I LOVED and every time he appears, my heart soars.

What are you waiting for, go and grab this book!

Came across author from her writing with Penny Reid (Rugby series).
Apparently Penny was the author I liked better, this was not very well written in my opinion. The characters seemed totally stock and I am remembering pretty much nothing about this even though I put it down about a week ago.
    Insta-love, not steamy.
