The finale was epic and it really brought the story to a close. There were unexpected moments and I wish that WWI ended like this. Unfortunately, it drove until a bitter end that had severe consequences. I think Scott Westerfeld was able to convey important messages but always showing that there ia hope that good will prevail.
This is a must for all steampunk fans. This world is fascinating and I wish we could see more. It would amazing to see other parts, how the societies would function without a war. Specially the Darwinists, for some reason I have a hard time that they believe manipulation of animals and blending them with machines is just normal.
Overall series rating: 4,5 stars.
