This book fell flat for me compared to the two that come before it. It didn't feel like this was a book that needed to be written. It didn't feel as carefully crafted as the other two in the series. The plot was not nearly as strong as the previous two. The characters all felt overwhelmingly annoying. Especially Vonetta. And I couldn't stand the parentification of Delphine in this book just for it to be made into like a villainification of her. She is 12 and has been the parent to her sisters for her entire life and suddenly she's at fault for trying to keep Vonetta from acting crazy. That just irritated me beyond belief. I've got to go for now but will probably have more thoughts when I get back later.
