A national bestseller for almost an entire year, The Days of Abandonment shocked and captivated its Italian public when first published. It is the gripping story of a woman's descent into devastating emptiness after being abandoned by her husband with two young children to care for. so i have a little over 100 pages to go until the end of this book and it's been really hard for me to get through it. the writing and prose is stellar, however, i think the subject matter is just very hard. like yes i love a woman raging but sometimes it just really hits close to home and feels very, very raw. anyone else have thoughts on this? love elena tho, her pen is mighty
