“…one can often tell Quakers not so much by what they say as by the way they live.” Quick background for anyone reading this: I’ve been pretty anti-religion (for myself) for at least the last decade. The dogma and general fear within religion actually enrages me because quite literally no one knows what is actually true about any sort of spirituality. I rediscovered Quakerism recently and it has really resonated with me that I have been living many Quaker beliefs without knowing it all my life. This line speaks to me so much because I will never ever tell anyone else or even myself what they must believe and actions they must take. I just do what I know is right in my heart, speak out for those suffering injustices, and hold peace above all else.
