Fifteen months ago, Detective Lindsay Boxer's life was perfect--she had a beautiful child and a doting husband, Joe, who helped her catch a criminal who'd brazenly detonated a bomb in downtown San Francisco, killing twenty-five people. But Joe wasn't everything that Lindsay thought he was, and she's still reeling from his betrayal as a wave of mysterious, and possibly unnatural, heart attacks claims seemingly unrelated victims across San Francisco. As if that weren't enough, the bomber she and Joe captured is about to go on trial, and his defense raises damning questions about Lindsay and Joe's investigation. Not knowing whom to trust, and struggling to accept the truth about the man she thought she knew, Lindsay must connect the dots of a deadly conspiracy before a brilliant criminal puts her on trial.

The majority of this book was a court case. Which I greatly dislike in this series and it was super boring.
The secondary killer was completely unbelievable with how he was able to kill people. I just couldn't get over that to actually see him as a threat. I mean who lets someone with two kills under their belt, including their baby sister, have free reign of the city whenever they want? And keep the keys in their locker where anyone can get to them? I think not.
The characters in these books are good, I just wish they were given better storylines. It's the same blah blah blah thing over and over again.
Honestly, I'd had SUCH high hopes after the last book, it was so darn good and then this one just fell so flat, soooooo flat
Also, I can't remember, do the killers ever live in these things or do they always die at the end?
And did I miss what happened with the woman from the building that Joe was helping? They mentioned her a couple of times after that but I have no idea what happened with all of that.
Meh. Overall, if James Patterson was writing these, they may actually be good, and they may not be. The story lines and plots could use some definite work, but they have some pretty strong characters to work with. I do still enjoy the view inside the killers brains but in this one they gave too many answers too fast and it just didn't feel like there was much of a mystery. It wasn't hard to figure out who had done what and why/how.
I enjoyed this 16th edition of the club. This one was mostly Boxer and that was ok with me. Sometimes when all 4 ladies have separate things going, it just can get too busy. Good villain and a good story.
