Jane's letter arrived three days later. At Pemberley, Darcy asked Elizabeth to be his wife, and she gladly accepted. Unfortunately, Darcy was unable to find Lydia, and due to his father's will, he could lose Georgiana's guardianship if he married Elizabeth. Darcy asked Elizabeth to postpone the wedding, and Elizabeth decided to call off the engagement. This is a story about ambition, jealousy, betrayal, family, duty, and love. New version 10-Nov-2023, grammar corrections and editing.

The story begins after Lydia Bennet elopes with Mr. Wickham. As time goes by and as there is no news of the couple, many lives change, the destinies of the beloved characters change, some for the better, others not so much.
“Tears & Forgiveness” by Lorena DiChiara shows us how one decision can affect the lives of all the beloved characters of the book “Pride & Prejudice”. New characters are introduced, sometimes happy, and sometimes sad events follow as time goes by.
What I liked best, is the introduction of new characters; their complex personalities with both virtues and faults make the reading very entertaining. On the other side, I think Lorena DiChiara, the author, allows the reader to visit the wicker side, so we do not forget that the characters are human too. The novel might not be idyllic, but it is full of human nature, and it does justice to its title. For these reasons, I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.
I recommend this book to fans of the period romance genre, and fans of Jane Austen.
