I'M AN OMEGA HEALER. DEDICATED AND POWERFUL.Until a healing goes wrong, and I become an enemy of the state. For those of us born with the gift, we work as healers at the most elite military academy in the country. I'm one of the best, until a treatment session with an important senior officer goes wrong, and I do the unthinkable - I take his power for myself.Judged and sentenced to die on the war front, I assume my life is over. But instead, I'm smuggled into the most dangerous dorm on campus. The only way to survive is to become one of the notorious traitors' sons who are hated and feared by everyone else in the school.I've never been an omega who traded on her looks, but that doesn't mean I know how to dress like a man, act like a soldier, or how to survive living with five strange alphas. Travis Wake, the surly fighter; Lawrence Michaelson III, a playboy lord and legacy; the Locke twins, as different as night and day; and Cutter – the military secret haunting the attic. My only hope is to hide with them long enough to escape and assume a new life in the city.Or at least that's the plan until I uncover the truth behind the devastating, fifty-year war. While I fall deeper and deeper for my misfit pack, our enemies are circling, and my window of escape is closing. Now I need to decide if I leave the men who’ve given me refuge – and their hearts - or if stay at their side and fight for their freedom. This is a slow-burn, new adult reverse harem, set in a war college with a misfit pack and a fmc who has “a kiss that can kill”! For fans of dress like a boy, forced proximity, and enemies to allies to lovers tropes.

I enjoyed the academic setting and found Mason, Luke, and York intriguing. I'm eager to see how the characters develop and their stories unfold. I hope the next book delves deeper into character relationships.
While the story was occasionally confusing, particularly towards the end, it didn't significantly impact my overall enjoyment. I appreciate Why Choose romances, but this one felt a bit unbalanced. Travis seemed to dominate the narrative with more POVs and a more developed relationship with Jane. I hope future books explore the other boys more fully, especially Drew, who had minimal interaction with the main character.
What truly keeps me engaged is the mystery surrounding Lawrence, Mason, and Luke.
Ranking the Boys:
- Mason: I love the enemies-to-lovers trope, but I wish the tension between Mason and Jane was drawn out more.
- Lawrence: As the only Legacy, he's intriguing from the start. I want to know more about his family and his relationship with Drew.
- Luke Cutter: His mysterious past and powers make him the most fascinating character.
(I'm less interested in the other boys.)
- Travis: While he feels like the main character, his reasons for being so aren't entirely clear. I hope he undergoes significant character development beyond his relationship with Jane.
- Avery: He had his moments, but I didn't feel a strong connection to his character.
- Drew: The least explored character, I don't understand his motivations or care about his story.
