Given that this is the end of Morpheus of the Endless' tale in the Sandman series, this review is going to be full of spoilers. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Dream has been my absolute favorite graphic novel character since volume 1 of the series so seeing him face the consequences of his decisions was both heartbreaking and extremely satisfying. Gaiman does such an amazing job making Dream a complicated but ultimately sympathetic character that you want to alternately cheer for or punch in the face. Having him face down the furies and ultimately make the only decision that he can was wonderful. This is the climax to which the series has been building and unlike other series I could name (Fables I'm looking at you!) it delivers one hundred percent. I know there are a few more volumes left but Sandman is the best graphic novel series I have ever read and I could die happy even without reading the rest. If you like graphic novels, then put Sandman on your list. No graphic novel list could ever be complete without it!
