Sweet Revenge by Cora Kent was my first reverse age-gap taboo romance. It was an enjoyable fast-paced read that delivered on both the heat and the plot. This is the third book in the Blackmore University series, but you can jump right in without feeling lost. Sweet Revenge is a thrilling read, and the spice level is just right – hot but not overpowering.
This forbidden romance centers on Carrie, trapped in a loveless marriage to the awful Malcolm. Enter Jackson, Malcolm's son, who approaches Carrie with a surprising proposition – help him get revenge on his father. What starts as a calculated move blossoms into genuine love, much to Jackson's surprise. I really liked seeing Carrie find her strength and swooning over the way Jackson treats her. The supporting characters are well-developed too, their stories weaving nicely into the main plot.
✨I received an ARC of this book to read and voluntarily review
So this is one of the first taboo romances I’ve ever read, and I really enjoyed it! The writing was good and it was a very quick book to read. I loved the way Jackson treated Carrie especially towards the end. Malcolm got what he deserved in my opinion. The character development was great, and I’m so happy Carrie got her happy ending. She was a very strong and resilient character. The spice was not over the top in my opinion and it didn’t overshadow the plot. The only thing I really wanted more from was the ending I felt it was a bit rushed. But I am definitely going to have to pick up the rest of the books in this series!
Cora Kent had done it again.
I have absolutely loved this very taboo series.
Jackson just wants revenge on his father. He will go through any length to make Malcom pay for what he has done.
When Jackson meets Carrie, she is the perfect plot of his revenge. However, he didn't realize he would fall for her.
This book is a quick read, there is some spice but it is perfect amount and does not over shadow the plot.
