This collection of five early stories is something of a mixed bag. The first three stories are rough: they're the work of a young writer finding her feet. In the next two, the author hits her stride and gives her reader stories we wish would last a little longer, simply because we like the characters.

This is the second of Bujold's books that I've read, and I like her. I look forward to reading more of her work.
