A Zan mancano solo sei mesi per spezzare la sua maledizione e tornare a vivere, quindi registrare l'anima di Bastian e dimenticare che sia mai esistito dovrebbe essere semplice. Eppure, quando lo segue attraverso i suoi ricordi di dolore e speranza, Zan si rende conto che non è pronto a lasciare che Bastian muoia. Ben presto, Zan dovrà decidere se è disposto a rinunciare alla libertà per salvare Bastian, e Bastian dovrà capire se è disposto a continuare a vivere a costo di perdere Zan.
