Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

One Thursday afternoon in the seniors' center, a decade-old cold case --their favorite kind-- leads the Thursday Murder Club to a local news legend and a murder with no body and no answers. A new foe they call "Viking", wants Elizabeth to kill former KGB chief Viktor, or he will kill her sweet best friend Joyce. Activist marked for death Ron and psychiatrist Ibrahim chase clues for Viking's identity, and investigate mob-queen prisoner from last book. This third adventure ranges from a prison cell with espresso machine to a luxury penthouse with swimming pool high in the sky.

Really enjoyed this cozy mystery. A few notes:

    - Richard Osman's writing gets better and better with each book. This is his strongest storyline yet -- there were no loose ends left untied. The punchlines were perfectly delivered.
    - We've jumped shark with the plot lines and characters a bit, but it wasn't overly distracting. Suspending disbelief made for a fun ride.
    - It's lovely to see these characters falling in love, making new friends, and appreciating their time together. This book brought my first tears of the series -- seeing how close they've all become and how much they cherish one another's company really drove things home, and I loved the character development.

One of the main things I enjoy about the Thursday Murder Club is their approach to life. They spend their time doing what they love with the people they love. Rather than spending their later years feeling sad about memories past, things they wish they'd done, or limited by their age, they live fully in the present and embrace what they have right now. I'm excited to read the latest book in the series :)
