Not all dukes are created equal. Most are upstanding members of Society. And then there’s the trio known as Their Dis-Graces. Hugh Philemon Ancaster, seventh Duke of Ripley, will never win prizes for virtue. But even he draws the line at running off with his best friend’s bride. All he’s trying to do is recapture the slightly inebriated Lady Olympia Hightower and return her to her intended bridegroom. For reasons that elude her, bookish, bespectacled Olympia is supposed to marry a gorgeous rake of a duke. The ton is flabbergasted. Her family’s ecstatic. And Olympia? She’s climbing out of a window, bent on a getaway. But tall, dark, and exasperating Ripley is hot on her trail, determined to bring her back to his friend. For once, the world-famous hellion is trying to do the honorable thing. So why does Olympia have to make it so deliciously difficult for him . . . ?

We open on Olympia, drunk and running from her wedding through the rain. The Duke of Ripley, the best man, chases her down, helping her run but making sure she stays safe, so her future groom can find her once she's calmed. Or so he thinks before they head off on their multi-day road trip.

I feel a bit conflicted about this book. For one, it was very fun. Olympia and Ripley have great banter throughout, easily bouncing retorts off one another. On the other hand, I still don't really understand how Ripley is a disgrace. We did not get much of his dynamics with the other two dukes that he is supposed to be best friends with, nor did we get any of Olympia's courting prior to the wedding. I have not read this trope before so it could just be me not enjoying this particular one, but I do think more background could have been enjoyable, as he didn't seem to be much of a rake to me. Plus, the timeline seemed very rushed but that could have been from reading the audio instead of physical - though Kate is a FANTASTIC narrator.

I also have to mention I love the inclusion of Olympia wearing spectacles. I haven't seen this much in the historicals I've read and it was such a cute detail that made me feel included as someone who wears glasses.

I'd definitely recommend this book if you're looking for a fun regency romance without the courting but with all of the tension and hijinks.
