this is the book #1 in the queen of dome series. to start off with the book review, is that the book is in a third pov. i didn’t really have an expections for the book, so i ended up shocked. there was a lot of tihngs that caught me off guard, especially with the beytral of someone close to deianira. deianira is the morally grey female character in this story while cade is the golden retriever male character. deianira has lived for a long time and it can definitely be since in the decisons that she has to make through out the book. both mcs had different upbrings which is clear just based on the way they interact with each other and as well with other people. but this also plays in how they end up connecting with each other. one thing that i would recommend before reading the queen of dome is checking the content warnings.
