Books that make me love the great outdoors

A collection of literary narratives about crossing into new ways of living. Books about homesteading, farming, building, and settling into place through sustained labor and care of land, homes, and the people and animals that make up a life.

Memoirs focused on moments in the authors’ careers from UK (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland) authors. A variety of careers- vetrenarians, midwife, nurse, bookseller, and biologist. Suggestions welcome! Focus on slice of life, rather light hearted books. But I’d love some more diversity in this list especially.
