With his rugged good looks, vast wealth and family name, hell-raiser Hutch Carmody is still the golden boy of Parable, Montana. But he's done some growing up—making peace with his illegitimate half brother and inheriting half of Whisper Creek Ranch, which should have been all his. These days, Hutch knows there are some things money can't buy: like the heart of loving, ladylike divorcée Kendra Shepherd.Kendra's quiet mansion reminds her of what she wants most—a devoted husband and the pitter-patter of little feet. She can't get Hutch Carmody out of her mind. But a rough-and-tumble cowboy like Hutch, coming home for family dinner? Seems crazy! Then again, crazier dreams have become reality under the vast Montana sky.

Only got about 100 pages in.

Grabbed this one randomly at the library because there was a lot of Linda Lael Miller there, and I assumed if I read it and liked it then there would be more to turn to.
Didn't realize this was the second in the series, but didn't care because the first one was probably (surprise!) a happily ever after and I could go back if I liked this one.

*Sigh* There was just nothing exciting happening! I mean the hook of Hutch leaving that girl at the alter was good (not spoiling anything that doesn't happen in the first 3 pages) but I didn't care about Hutch, he seemed to have no depth or character at all. I can't say I didn't like him because he was so generic and I don't even remember anything about him! Same goes for the female main character, whatever her name was.

Long story short: at 100 pages, all the characters were good looking, boring as heck, rich, and there was absolutely NOTHING going on! And the language was so bland. And there was nothing original happening either--all cliche and sickening.
Will stick to my Sarah McLean in the future, she as least has some spark to her writing.
