HARPER VEIL is looking for a fresh start. Leaving the city behind, she settles into an old farmhouse in the quiet town of Silas Valley, hoping a little peace and solitude will help her start over. Then she notices the scarecrow in her field. He’s been there for as long as anyone can remember. The townspeople swear he’s the reason their harvests are so bountiful, but there’s something about him Harper can’t quite shake. Something about the way he seems to watch her. When she’s invited to a small gathering on Halloween night, Harper expects a quiet evening with the locals, but she gets something else entirely. There’s more to Silas Valley than meets the eye… And the scarecrow in Harper’s field may be far more than straw and old clothes.
