A list of the MG + YA books I'm most looking forward to being released in 2025

July 16 is International Drag Day! We've put together a list of our favorite books featuring characters who do drag, non-fiction about people who do drag, and books written by people who do drag. Drag is not just "people who dress in clothes not conventionally associated with their gender"; it is a specific culture, so our list takes that into account, but we had to make some calls on what would and wouldn't count. (Presented by Duck Prints Press. A group of us make these recommendations.)

This is a list of middle grade books that have been honored or awarded with the Newbery Award among other children's literature awards, including the Pura Belpré Award, APALA Literature Award, Coretta Scott King Book Award, and Schneider Family Book Award.
