0 0An interesting twist with this one. Main couple went through an instant mating. Meaning they saw each other for the first time, and when they shook hands, they both immediately fell into a mating. The problem is that Kaira is recently widowed and not looking to ever fall in love again. The second problem is that the two are immediately kidnapped by the Kantos and spend the entire book in forced proximity having to rely on each other for survival. And poor Thane has to deal with the mating fever coming on strong when his mate doesn’t exactly want a mate. The two are helped out along the way by a couple of groups of surprising allies. And as we lead into the final book, hopefully they also discovered a couple of things that can help them defeat their enemies once and for all.
Overall, the book has the same vibe and feel as the other books, with our main pair having to fight together to survive. But in this one, even though they mated immediately, there really wasn’t much time for them to fall in love. There really wasn’t time to see their chemistry. And I still maintain that the girl from this book has more chemistry with the guy from the last book. So even though this book gave us a little something different than the other books, I didn’t quite get the connection between the main couple.
