Monsters rule the world. And now, they rule me. After an attempt on my life, I find myself saved by an unlikely ally. Injured, confused, and faced with emotions I don’t know how to deal with, I hunker down in a monster’s safe house. But I refuse to stay hidden. With threats coming at us from all angles, I must learn to put my trust in the very monsters I swore to hate. The Grotesque. The Creeper. And then, I realize I must save the monsters who hurt and betrayed me. The Devourer. And unfortunately, the Empty Man. Because something is stirring inside of me. Something that tells me that maybe I’m not just a pet for these dangerous, malicious beasts. I think a part of me wants to be devoured by the monsters. This is a reverse harem romance with protective, possessive, psychotic monsters and the female they all love. If you like your men a little deranged and one hundred percent monstrous, your female a badass, and panty-melting heat, then this is the book for you. The things these monsters can do with their tongues…and claws…and horns…and tails…

I enjoyed this book about as much as the first one. I loved the dynamics between many of the characters, particularly the Tesq, Creep, and Aliana thruple, and then between Em and Chase. Dev remains the weak link in the series for me, especially after all the time we got to spend with the others. His lack of character really stands out to me compared to the rest.
Still, this felt like a satisfying addition to the series that developed well and kept my attention. It also maintained and added to the humor of the first book, again making me laugh out loud at parts. Definitely looking forward to the third one!
