This isnt the best book I've read in a while but it was good in a 90s thriller movie type. Like one of those Harrison Ford or Sean Connery kind of movies that I used to watch with my granfather everyday. This is the type of story that makes you need to know who the murderer was.

It also has some really good characters: we have two detectives Simon Winter and Walter Robinson, the main ones; one is an ex inspector and the other one is the former detective in charge in the majority of the new cases in town.

The book begins with the murder of Simon Winter's neighbor, an old lady who was a Survivor from the holocaust during the II world war. The old woman was terrified for a ghost from the war who she believed was going to kill her that same night, she tells him the story of a jewish assassin who used to hunt his own people in Berlin for the SS, he was called the shadowman and he was feared by everyone who was escaping the Nazis. Simon didnt believe her, due to her constant state of fear being an old widow lady, and tries to calm her down before he goes to bed. But at the end of the night when she gets murdered he starts realizing that maybe the old lady was not crazy at all.

That's where the Story begins and it was captivating from the very beginning; the author gives you all the facts and it makes you feel that you are reading a movie. The writing it's fast paced, it doesn't get slow at any part and continues to show the connections between all the characters and how they create the whole plot.
Its a good take on the history of the holocaust, the story catches your eye and makes you want to solve the puzzle.

My only problem with it was the continuous use of the race as a central point in the story. It was constantly mentioned and it was kind of annoying but other than that it was a really good book. It wasn't amazing, neither fantastic but it wasn't bad either so it was a really good book
