don't let the title or the summary fool you. little mushroom is an amazingly-written, incredibly crafted novel that won't hesitate to hit you in the gut and laugh about it. from the beginning, everything was so well done, so carefully executed, and the writing is just EXCELLENT. this post apocalyptic story is fully capable of absorbing you into its world, and there were moments in which i said aloud i wouldn't care if only the main characters had a happy ending, but then, the next second, i'd be bawling and rooting for humanity and its survival all over again. it is only because it was so well-written that that was possible.
now, let me talk just a little bit about an zhe and lu feng. they are just EVERYTHING. they have their own separate worlds, their own separate needs, and the space in which they meet, and the thought that they would be willing to let go of that part that only belongs to one of them in order to love each other. an zhe was sweet, kind and extremely nice to follow the whole time. lu feng was and IS the absolute love of my life. he is such a good person, such an amazing character, and he deserved all the happiness in the world.
i'm going to miss this novel a lot. i might not reread it soon, since it's been a ride and the angst got me for most of it, but i'll remember it and cherish it until the time comes when i decide i want to ride the rollercoaster once again. also, i'm really happy i got to read this with my best friend <3 would totally recommend.

Estaba en duda si ponerle 4.5 o 5 estrellas.

Pero para una historia que prácticamente me hizo llorar desde la primera página y que se mantuvo en mi cabeza por todo este tiempo, y que disfruté a pesar de pasar tragedia tras tragedia, y que me llegó a encantar tanto a un punto donde no me importaba si conseguía un final triste o feliz…

Bien merecidas sus cinco estrellas. Porque la historia de An Zhe, Lu Feng, y demás de personajes fue cruda y, a la vez, bella. Y se quedará siempre en mi corazón
