It’s not secret that I love this author and the huge series that is the Love in Bloom family of books. Because there are so many families and characters, sometimes they turn out just okay. Not bad. I can’t say I’ve ever read a bad or boring book by Melissa Foster. But there are times that I’m engaged but not all in, if that makes sense.
Knox and Aubrey are definitely meant to be. There’s no denying their chemistry and connection. That’s the thing about this author. Even her “okay” stories have amazing heat, love, and stories. Maybe how perfect they are for one another is why this book didn’t give me the same zing as most of her other books. Yes, Aubrey had to learn to give up some of the control she was so fond of. And Knox really had to learn patience and that he can’t always fix everything for everyone. But all in all, there was no major conflict in this tale.
One of the things I loved about this story was getting to know Knox’s family a bit. I’m hoping for more stories from them in the future. Not to mention Aubrey’s family, who we didn’t see as much but has some great story prospects.
Overall, this is a sweet and sexy love story. An easy read for a lazy day. Well worth the read, but not the best from this author.
